□ 우리 대학은 지난 26일 대만 가오슝시에서 대전시와 가오슝시 간 ‘TWIN CITY FORUMS(쌍둥이 도시 포럼)’를 공동 개최하며 교류와 협력을 강화했다고 밝혔다.

□ Hanbat National University announced that it co-hosted the 'TWIN CITY FORUMS' between Daejeon and Kaohsiung on the 26th in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to strengthen exchange and cooperation.

 ○ 이번 포럼은 대전시와 자매도시인 가오슝시의 협력 관계를 기반으로 교류를 강화하고자 마련됐으며, 두 도시의 전문가와 국립한밭대, 국립가오슝대 학자들이 참여하여 스마트 도시 개발, 반도체 및 첨단 산업 발전, 인재 양성, 산학협력, 탄소중립 지속가능성 등의 주제에 대해 논의했다.

 ○ The forum was organized to strengthen ties between Daejeon and its sister city, Kaohsiung. Experts from both cities, along with scholars from Hanbat National University and National University of Kaohsiung, engaged in deep discussions on topics such as smart city development, semiconductors and high-tech industry growth, talent fostering, industry-academic cooperation, and carbon-neutral sustainability.

□ 국립한밭대 오용준 총장은 이날 발표자로 나서 ‘과학과 기술을 통한 도시 혁신’을 주제로 대전의 산․학․연 협력 모델과 사례를 공유했다.

□ President Oh Yong-jun of Hanbat National University took the stage as a speaker, sharing Daejeon’s industry-academia-research cooperation models and success cases under the theme of 'Urban Innovation through Science and Technology.'

 ○ 오 총장은 “대학은 인재 양성뿐 아니라 지·산·학·연 협력과 글로벌 네트워크를 기반으로 도시혁신의 플랫폼 역할을 한다”며, “이번 포럼에 함께 참여한 반도체패키징 부문 세계 1위 기업인 ASE와의 협력관계를 통해 양 대학 학생들의 공동 인턴십 및 교원들의 공동연구를 지원하고자 한다”고 말했다.

 ○ President Oh stated, "Universities do not only nurture talent; they serve as platforms for urban innovation based on regional-industry-academic-research cooperation and global networks." He added, "Through our partnership with ASE, the world's number one company in semiconductor packaging that participated in this forum, we intend to support joint internships for students and collaborative research for faculty members from both universities."

□ 아울러 국립한밭대 대표단은 지난해 글로벌 협력 관계를 구축하고 학술 교류를 이어온 대만 국립가오슝대를 방문하여 학생 교류 프로그램 확대 등 두 대학 간 향후 협력 방안에 대해 논의했다.

□ In addition, the Hanbat National University delegation visited the National University of Kaohsiung, with which it has maintained academic exchanges since establishing a global partnership last year. During the visit, the two institutions discussed future cooperation plans, including the expansion of student exchange programs. 

□ 한편, 이번 두 도시 간 국제 포럼은 한국과 대만의 자매 도시 간 협력 성과를 보여주는 동시에, 가오슝시에는 ASE 뿐만 아니라 TSMC 등 세계적인 반도체 기업들이 있어 향후 두 도시 및 대학 간 교류가 더욱 강화될 것으로 기대된다.

□ This international forum serves as a testament to the successful cooperation between the sister cities of Korea and Taiwan. With Kaohsiung being home to global semiconductor giants like TSMC as well as ASE, further enhancement of exchanges between the two cities and their universities is highly anticipated.
