The Department of Smart Production Management Engineering is a department that has signed contracts with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the support by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. It utilizes scientific and engineering approaches and management techniques to solve various problems that occur at production and manufacturing sites.
The master’s program of the Department of Smart Production Management Engineering was introduced in September 2017, and since then, the department has been recruiting 15 new students every year. The doctoral program was opened in August 2022 and the quota set at 10 students. In accordance with Article 19 of the Special Act on Support for Human Resources of Small and Medium Enterprises and Article 8 of the Promotion of Industrial Education and Industry-Academic Cooperation Act, new students are selected from among those who have worked for small and medium-sized enterprises in the production, manufacturing, and knowledge-based service industries for at least 10 months. Selected students are provided with tuition support (65% as of 2022) and are given regular master’s and doctoral degrees after graduation.
