The Department of Chinese Language aims to cultivate talents with excellent Chinese language skills by learning and practicing listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Chinese, and to cultivate talents with both humanistic literacy and creative thinking through various lectures that deepen knowledge of Chinese literature, culture, politics, economics, and society from ancient to modern times.
Graduates from the department enter the global job market and find work in enterprises related to China at home and abroad, work in tourism, media, publishing, or teaching the Chinese language, or start their own businesses overseas. Some continue their studies in graduate schools or study abroad in Chinese universities and become experts in China and its language. Others work in large corporations, domestic and foreign trading companies, airlines, and domestic and foreign travel agencies, or as diplomats, university professors, bankers, middle and high school teachers, publishers, interpreters, international tourism agents, Chinese language instructors, journalists, overseas entrepreneurs, and other fields related to their majors.
