By providing education on economic theories for students to gain knowledge required by knowledge-centered societies in the globalization era of the 21st century and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the Department of Economics aims to foster not only economists needed by the country and local communities, but also excellent human resources who can contribute with their economic expertise and analytical abilities.
The Department of Economics offers essential majors such as Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, as well as applied majors such as Labor Economics, Economic Development Theories, and Environmental Economics, in addition to economic policy seminars and current affairs seminars, which a focus on tracking and applying theories to real- world problems.
Graduates will be equipped with knowledge and skills required in fields related to economics and be able to work at universities, national research institutes, and financial institutions. The logical thinking skills imparted to students can also be applied in any job that entails judgment and decisions.
The department provides education, research opportunities, and guidance for students to build a broad knowledge of economics by covering topics that are in line with the needs of the times and fosters talents who will lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The department is also continuously preparing measures to work with national and regional research institutes located in the Daejeon and Sejong areas.
