Department Overview and Objectives

The Department of Management of Technology (MOT) provides a new type of business management education to produce managers with both management and technology knowledge. In particular, Daejeon, a science city known as Daedeok Valley, is home to Daedeok Innopolis, numerous startups, government offices, and technology-driven companies, so there is a high awareness and demand for the management of technology. Therefore, the department aims to provide business professionals with knowledge in technology commercialization, and technologists with theoretical and practical knowledge in business management.

You will learn the latest theories and case examples related to general business management, such as business strategy, organizational management, human resources management, marketing management, financial management, production management, international business management, and business management information systems, and develop knowledge in the management of technology, such as idea development, integration of technologies and company strategies, rapid development and commercialization of technology, diagnosis and evaluation of technology, speeding up new product development, and decision-making ability as managers of technology. In the Department of Management of Technology, you will develop integrated knowledge of ‘technology and management’ to amplify your personal capabilities as a decision maker.

  • General business management: business strategy, organizational management, human resources management, marketing management, financial management, production management, international business management, and business management information systems, etc.
  • Management of technology: Government-funded research and development (R&D) project management, creativity/innovation management, commercialization of technology, new product development of business ventures, global technology management, technology-product-market connections, etc.

Graduates from this department will be able to enter any field that requires knowledge in business management and technology, such as general management, IT, BT, nano, MICE industry, robotics, new energy industry, service industry, etc.
