Industrial systems undergoing constant development require increasingly more complex and specialized technologies and engineering techniques, and in order to maintain a high quality level for these complex systems, advanced control technologies are necessary. ISO 9000 defines the term “quality management” as “coordinated activities to direct and control an organization with regard to quality,” and it can be said that the study of quality management systems in modern times has significant development potential and will present a wealth of opportunities in the future.
Industrial and management engineering presents a broader range of career paths than any other departments, which is why students in this department must decide the aspect of industrial and management engineering that they are interested in and the path that they should follow. This is a student club was founded in February 2003 with Prof. Bok-Soo Ko, the then-Dean of Academic Affairs, as the advisor, when students interested in quality control needed someone to guide them in their academic journey. Without forgetting this background, the club members have vowed to help any students who are struggling with their studies, as representatives of the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering.
