□ Hanbat National University (President Oh Yong-jun) announced that, taking the occasion of the 1st Korea Central Asia Summit, it has signed academic exchange agreements with major universities in Kazakhstan, and based on this, will actively promote practical international cooperation projects such as strengthening academic and human exchange cooperation, joint research in engineering and science fields, and dual degree programs.
□ Hanbat National University stated that it participated in the Korea Kazakhstan Institutional and Higher Education Institution Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing event held at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul on the 15th, laying a practical foundation for sustainable academic exchange and expanded international cooperation between universities of the two countries.
○ This exchange event was promoted to develop the cooperative relationship in the fields of education and science and technology between the two countries into more concrete inter university cooperation, taking the opportunity of the 1st Korea Central Asia Summit held in Seoul.
○ In particular, it is meaningful in that it will continuously expand the education and research cooperation network at the university level in connection with the AI, digital, and science and technology cooperation, supply chains and future industries, and expansion of human and cultural exchanges discussed at the summit.
○ The event on this day proceeded in the order of the opening remarks by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, commemorative photos of officials from universities and institutions of both countries, and the signing of business agreements.
□ At this venue, Hanbat National University signed academic exchange agreements with Atyrau Oil and Gas University, Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications, International Educational Corporation (KazGASA), and D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University in Kazakhstan, and decided to strengthen mutual continuous academic exchange cooperation.
○ Taking this opportunity, it plans to expand joint research in engineering and science fields centered on electrical and power engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), information and communications, energy and resources, architecture and civil engineering, and cutting edge industries by combining Hanbat National University's educational and research capabilities in engineering with the specialized fields of Kazakhstani universities.
○ In addition, educational cooperation is scheduled to be expanded to the next level. In addition to capstone design, exchange student and visiting professor programs, beyond student exchanges, fields where majors and curricula can be mutually linked will be preferentially selected to review and promote the operation of dual degrees and joint curriculum programs.
□ Hanbat National University President Oh Yong-jun stated, "This exchange goes beyond a simple academic exchange agreement, and is meaningful in establishing a practical cooperative system where Korean and Kazakhstani universities can share each other's educational and research strengths and develop together," adding, "In particular, we will develop it into concrete cooperative projects such as joint research in engineering and science fields including robotics, electrical and electronics, and mechanical engineering, and dual degree programs to provide new opportunities for both students and professors/researchers".
□ Hanbat National University plans to promote regular working level consultations and exchanges between professors and researchers with Kazakhstani partner universities, and continuously identify education and research demands to jointly discover new cooperation programs, in order to develop exchanges between universities of the two countries beyond a one time agreement into a sustainable cooperative system.
○ In particular, keeping pace with the trend of science and technology and human exchanges between Korea and Central Asian countries expanding with this summit as an opportunity, it plans to strengthen the cooperation network at the university level and expand the scope to educational and research cooperation with universities in major Central Asian countries as well as Kazakhstan in the future.
