- Expected to foster organic mutual cooperation among local government, industry, academia, and research institutes taking this as an opportunity going forward

□ Hanbat National University (President Oh Yong-jun) announced that it held the 'Daedeok Innopolis Association of Institution Heads Heyum Night' at the Digital Library on campus on the 26th to foster an innovation ecosystem and build close cooperation with heads of institutions in Daedeok Innopolis.

 ○ 'Heyum Night' is an exchange gathering for communication and cooperation among heads of major institutions in Daedeok Innopolis, and this event was organized to introduce the education and research infrastructure of Hanbat National University, which has contributed to special zone innovation as an industry academic cooperation centered national university, and to explore mutual prosperity development plans among local government, industry, academia, and research institutes.

□ On this day, 55 people, including heads of major institutions and officials in the special zone, attended the event, such as Hanbat National University President Oh Yong-jun, Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials President Ryu Seok-hyun, who serves as Vice Chairman of the Daedeok Innopolis Association of Institution Heads, Daejeon Tourism Organization President Kim Yong-won, Yuseong-gu District Mayor Jeong Yong-rae of Daejeon, Korea Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control President Lee Na-young, Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science President Lee Ho-seong, and Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Central Research Institute Director Lee Don-guk.

 ○ The event began with the main roundtable at 'Maju Got' on the 2nd floor of the Digital Library newly opened by Hanbat National University last May, and opening remarks by Vice Chairman Ryu Seok-hyun, greetings by District Mayor Jeong Yong-rae, welcoming remarks by President Oh Yong-jun, and an inaugural greeting by newly appointed institution head Director Lee Don-guk took place in order.

□ Following this, after watching a university promotional video, President Oh Yong-jun directly introduced key innovation achievements such as the university's current status and faculty startup success cases, which was immediately followed by a presentation from the ANCHOR Project Group.

□ Hanbat National University ANCHOR Project Group Deputy Head Kim Jeong-hwan explained major projects currently underway, such as regional leading university education specialization and the advancement of sustainable regional industry academia research cooperation, based on industry academic cooperation capabilities accumulated over a long period.

 ○ In particular, he drew the attention of institution heads by sharing tangible results of collaborative partnerships, including 84 joint R and D projects with regional national research institutes and cooperation with scientists and engineers, as well as presenting the future vision of Hanbat National University, which leaped to 34th globally in the '2026 WURI (World University Rankings for Innovation)' in recognition of these innovation achievements.

□ After the roundtable, attendees toured the Digital Library, a multipurpose cultural and learning space utilized jointly by students and the local community, and were able to confirm the outstanding infrastructure supporting the educational innovation pursued by Hanbat National University.

□ Hanbat National University President Oh Yong-jun stated, "We are focusing all of the university's capabilities on fostering innovative talent to lead future new industries of the region in close cooperation with core research institutes and local governments in Daedeok Innopolis," adding, "Going forward, we will actively open the outstanding industry academia research infrastructure possessed by Hanbat National University and fulfill our role as a central platform driving regional and national innovation together with members of Daedeok Innopolis."
