- Appointing Professor Choi Jong-in of the Department of Business Administration following Honorary President Yeom Hong-cheol

- Promoting 100th anniversary founding projects that university members and local residents can relate to and feel proud of

□ Hanbat National University (President Oh Yong-jun) appointed Professor Choi Jong-in as the new head of the '100th Anniversary Founding Project Committee' ahead of its 100th anniversary of founding in 2027.

 ○ Hanbat National University announced that as Honorary President Yeom Hong-cheol, who laid the foundation as former committee chairperson, assumed the presidency of the 2027 Chungcheong Universiade Organizing Committee, it appointed Professor Choi Jong-in, an expert in industry academic cooperation and regional innovation, as successor chairperson for the 100th anniversary founding project committee and newly reorganized the structure.

 ○ Newly appointed Chairperson Choi Jong-in, who will lead the committee, served as Hanbat National University Vice President for Industry Academic Research, Director of LINC 3.0 Project Group, Vice President for Planning, and president of 3 academic societies including the Korean Society for Human Resource Development, while serving as a Fiscal Policy Advisory Committee Member of the Ministry of Planning and Budget and Co Representative of the Regional Economy Forum, significantly contributing to building the university's industry, academia, and research cooperation ecosystem and regional community linked development.

 ○ Chairperson Choi is thoroughly familiar with internal university affairs as well as possessing external networks and planning capabilities, evaluated as the right person to successfully lead the 100th anniversary project.

□ Taking this change of chairperson as an opportunity, the committee plans to further diversify its project system based on existing achievements and launch execution centered programs in full swing where university members, alumni, and the Daejeon local community can participate together.

 ○ In particular, based on the 100th anniversary slogan "100 Years Built Together, Future Opened Together", it plans to step by step promote key tasks such as ▲ shedding new light on and documenting 100 years of history ▲ cultural and academic events with the local community ▲ expanding development funds that will serve as the driving force for realizing the vision for the next 100 years.

□ Newly appointed Committee Chairperson Choi Jong-in expressed his ambition, stating, "The 100 year history of Hanbat National University, which has grown together with the region and industry since its opening in 1927, is a deeply meaningful asset," adding, "Upon the foundation laid by Honorary President Yeom Hong-cheol, I will create 100th anniversary founding projects that current students, faculty and staff, alumni, and local residents can relate to and feel proud of together."

□ Meanwhile, Hanbat National University, which started as Hongseong Public Technical School in 1927, will mark its 100th anniversary of founding on May 20, 2027, and plans to carry out various commemorative projects in which local residents as well as university members can participate.
