- 17,169 applicants for 2,053 total open spots (8.75 to 1 within regular quota), marking a 6 year consecutive increase in competition rate
□ Hanbat National University (President Oh Yong-jun) announced that as a result of closing the application period for the '2027 Academic Year Early Admissions' at 6 PM on the 11th, a total of 17,169 people applied for 2,053 open spots, recording a final competition rate of 8.36 to 1 (8.75 to 1 within the regular quota).
※ For the 2026 academic year early admissions, 16,017 people applied for a total of 2,029 open spots (competition rate of 7.89 to 1, 8.25 to 1 within the regular quota)
○ This is a figure that increased from last year (7.89 to 1), with 1,152 more applicants, continuing the upward trend in the competition rate for 6 consecutive years since the 2022 academic year.
○ Dean of Admissions Lee Seong-ho stated, "First of all, I thank the students and parents who showed interest and applied to Hanbat National University," adding, "We believe that the positive factor enabling us to continue the increase in the early admissions competition rate this year is Hanbat National University's continuous educational innovation efforts to realize student centered and experience centered education."
□ By screening type, the Comprehensive Student Record (General) Screening showed the highest competition rate at 11.76 to 1, followed by the Regional Talent (Curriculum) Screening at 10.70 to 1, and the Student Record Curriculum (Social Integration) Screening, newly established this year, at 10.57 to 1.
□ By recruitment unit, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering under the Regional Talent (Curriculum) Screening recorded the highest competition rate at 22.38 to 1 with 179 applicants for 8 open spots, followed by the Department of Business Administration (21.13 to 1) and the Department of Architecture (5 year program) (20.67 to 1) under the Comprehensive Student Record (General) Screening.
□ In the Student Record Curriculum (General) Screening and the Regional Talent (Comprehensive) Screening, the Department of Public Administration showed the highest competition rates at 16.50 to 1 and 13.67 to 1, respectively.
□ Also, in the practical skill focused screenings, the Practical Skill (General) Screening recorded 8.38 to 1 with 595 applicants for 71 open spots, a significant increase from last year (5.69 to 1), and the Practical Skill Excellence Screening recorded 10.04 to 1 with 271 applicants for 27 open spots.
□ Meanwhile, practical skill tests for practical skill focused screenings will be held over two days on October 16 (Friday) (Practical Skill General) and 17 (Saturday) (Practical Skill Excellence), and interviews by screening type will be conducted on November 20 (Friday).
□ In addition, announcements for final successful candidates and first stage successful candidates (interview candidates), interview location guides, and test room assignment tables for practical skill focused screening applicants will be announced only through the Hanbat National University Office of Admissions website, so applicants must check the related details.
