- Enhancing professionalism of volunteer activities by utilizing major fields learned at university

□ Hanbat National University (President Oh Yong-jun) students visited Yesan-gun, Chungnam, to carry out talent sharing volunteer activities to improve the living environment of rural areas and achieve mutual prosperity with the local community.

 ○ Organized by the 42nd Hyeseong Student Council of Hanbat National University, this volunteer activity was supported by funding from the Korean University Council for Social Service and held for 5 days and 4 nights from the 10th to the 14th in the Daeheung-myeon area of Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, with a total of 71 participants including student council executive officers and enrolled students.

 ○ Based on residents' needs, students worked hard to resolve living inconveniences in rural areas and improve residents' safety and quality of life by carrying out diverse volunteer activities, such as repairing aged residential facilities, installing living safety facilities, operating educational and cultural programs, promoting the village, and improving the environment and safety.

 ○ In particular, it served as an opportunity to enhance the professionalism of volunteer activities by utilizing their majors, communicate directly with the local community, and build essential qualities required of university students, such as social skills and teamwork.

□ Nam Kang-min, President of the 42nd Hyeseong Student Council, said, "This rural talent sharing activity was an opportunity for students to learn the value of service and cooperation, as well as a meaningful time to support practical improvements in living environments and safety for the local area," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to realize the value of mutual prosperity where the university and the region grow together through continuous volunteer activities."
