ARTOA is a club composed of Information and Communication and Computer Engineering graduate and undergraduate students. We apply our knowledge of digital system design to study hardware and software among other areas. In the hardware field, in particular, we learn design methods using VHDL/Verilog for hardware design, study the structure and peripheral design of various processors, and work toward designing and implementing special functions using them. In the software field, we study embedded software, which is closely related to hardware. We also conduct research on modem design for digital wireless communication (WirelessLAN, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc.), image compression (JPEG2000, MPEG4, H.264, etc.) module design, and other core module designs for a ubiquitous sensor network (USN). We have the necessary CAD tools such as Quartus-II, Synopsys, Mentor, Cadence, SPW, etc. and related SoC design equipment and measurement equipment. For embedded system design, we develop OS porting, device driver design/manufacturing, and applications tailored to embedded system characteristics. In the lab, industry-university research projects are conducted for research and product development that is taking place in the actual field. Grad and undergrad students work closely with each other, and graduates have also shown interest in supporting current students.
